• Fine jewelry, watches, and tech: 15-day return window only, regardless of membership status

• Beauty (Macy's Beauty): 30 days, even if partially used

• Last Act items: Final sale — no returns accepted

• Online orders: Free return by mail or at any Macy's store within 30 days (or 90 days for Star Reward members)

Macy's Return Without Receipt

Lost your receipt? Macy's can often still process your return:

• With your Macy's account: All online and in-store purchases tied to your account are retrievable. Bring the item and your account info to any store.

• With your payment card: Macy's can look up the transaction by the credit or debit card used — valid for in-store purchases.

• Without any record: Macy's will issue a merchandise credit at the item's current or lowest recent selling price. A valid government-issued ID is required, and Macy's uses a third-party return-tracking system to flag customers who return frequently without receipts.

Macy's Gift Receipts

Macy's gift receipts show the item but hide the price paid. The recipient can return or exchange the item for merchandise credit equal to the gift receipt value. Gift receipts are available at in-store checkout and during online checkout. They do not expire and can be used at any Macy's location.

Digital Receipts via the Macy's App

Macy's app users and macys.com account holders have all purchases stored under "Order History." For in-store purchases, if you're signed into your Star Rewards account, the transaction syncs automatically. You can pull up any past receipt in the app and use it for returns without a paper receipt.
