What's on a Kohl's receipt
A Kohl's receipt carries a few extras beyond the usual line items:
Store & register details — the location, date, and register.
Itemized purchases — each product with its price and the sale or coupon discounts applied.
Kohl's Cash earned — during earn periods, the Kohl's Cash your purchase generated, printed with the receipt.
Kohl's Rewards — the rewards account the purchase was linked to.
Subtotal, tax & total — with the payment method (including a Kohl's Card) and last four digits.
Barcode & transaction ID — used to pull the purchase back up.
Kohl's return policy with a receipt
Kohl's allows returns on most items for up to 180 days after purchase — roughly six months, among the longest windows in retail — with the refund going back to your original payment method. The main exception: premium electronics and watches typically must come back within 30 days, with the receipt and original packaging. In-store purchases return to any store; Kohls.com orders can be returned in store as well, which is usually faster than mailing them back.
Returning to Kohl's without a receipt
No receipt? Kohl's can usually look up your purchase — if you paid with a Kohl's Card, a credit or debit card, or linked the purchase to your Kohl's Rewards account, the service desk can find the transaction and process a normal return. If the purchase can't be located, Kohl's may still take the item back with a photo ID, issuing merchandise credit at the item's lowest recent price. Linking every purchase to your Rewards account is the easy insurance: it makes any future no-receipt return a lookup instead of a negotiation.
Kohl's Cash, gift receipts, and receipt lookup
Two Kohl's-specific notes. First, Kohl's Cash: it's earned during promo periods and printed on (or with) your receipt — it has its own redemption window, so check the dates before it lapses; returns of items that earned Kohl's Cash can adjust the refund. Second, a gift receipt lets the recipient return or exchange without seeing the price, with refunds as merchandise credit. For a lost receipt, your Kohls.com account keeps online order history, and the service desk can search in-store purchases by the card used and approximate date.
The bottom of a Kohl’s receipt often carries real money. During a Kohl’s Cash earn window, purchases bank $10 in Kohl’s Cash per $50 spent, printed right on the receipt with its own code and redemption dates — miss the window and it expires. Kohl’s Rewards stacks on top: members earn 5% back (7.5% for Kohl’s Card holders) that converts into Kohl’s Cash monthly. Both show on the receipt as earned or redeemed lines, so the slip doubles as the coupon — one more reason a Kohl’s receipt is worth photographing before it fades.

Create a Kohl's-style receipt copy
If a receipt has faded and you need a clean record for your files or an expense report, our receipt template and generator can reproduce an itemized retail receipt — store details, items with discounts, tax, and total — in a readable format.
For legitimate record-keeping only. A receipt should reflect purchases you actually made; creating one for items you didn't buy, or to obtain a return, Kohl's Cash, or credit you're not entitled to, is fraud. Use this only to reproduce or organize your own genuine Kohl's purchases.
